FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH MINISTRY OF CHRISTIAN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for the Herman Jackson Scholarship must:a. Be a member of Friendship Baptist Church.b. Participate in one (1) Christian/youth activity per year (i.e. choir, usher board, youth activity, Sunday school, etc.) and contribute to the financial support of the church.c. Be a high school graduate or its equivalent with 2.5 grade point average
or have at least a 2.5 grade point average at an accredited institution or vocational/trade school.
Applicants must submit their most recent transcript.NOTE:-Grants are available to undergraduate and graduate students with preference being given to undergraduates.-Undergraduate students may receive more than one grant over a four (4) year cumulative period. Graduate students are limited to one-time-only grant.All documents requested on application must be submitted with application.
Applicants for the Mary Brown Scholarship must:a. be a high school graduate or its equivalent.b. may or may not be a member of Friendship Baptist Church.c. be enrolled or accepted at an accredited institution or vocational/trade school.NOTE:-Preference will be given to those who profess Christ.-Grants will be available to undergraduate students only.-Students are eligible to receive grants in multiple years.-Students who receive Herman Jackson grants will not be eligible for Mary Brown grants during the same calendar year.All documents requested on application must be submitted with application.
Applicants for the Henry L. Cotton, Jr. Scholarship Fund must:a. be a high school graduate or its equivalent.b. may or may not be a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.c. be enrolled or accepted at an accredited college or vocational/trade school.NOTE:-Preference will be given to foster or adoptive students.-Grants will be available to undergraduate students only.-Students are eligible to receive grants in multiple years.-The number and amount of grants given will be based on the funds available.-Students who receive Herman Jackson or Mary Brown grants will not be eligible for Henry L. Cotton, Jr. grant during the same calendar year.All documents requested on application must be submitted with application.
